Ireland has been sick so far. Unfortunately this teeny little netbook can't load my videos from my flip, so I'm limited on what I can record. Also luckily my sister has one so I'm gonna steal hers and use it too, and the day I get back is gonna be a HUUUUUUUGE video dump!
The flight to Heathrow was so sick, every seat had a little TV you could play games on and watch movies and whatnot, so the 7 or something hours passed pretty quickly. Seperated with my sister in Heathrow because her connecting flight was right after but mine was in like 6 hours. I was sooooooo tired already, but I checked in and found a nice bench in some giant waiting area and just people watched and wrote a little bit. I noticed that like a whole bunch of people would just set up a sleeping area with blankets and pillows and everything, so I was like fuck it, and I did the same, but felt reeeeeeeally uncomfortable. Finally after grueling hours of being half asleep and wandering aimlessly, my flight was boarding, so I got on and went right to sleep.
Landed in Dublin and took a cab to my hostel where my sister was not, and pretty much just passed out. Slept like 14 hours haha.
Free hostel breakfast has been sooooo good, and the first day we walked around and went grocery shopping. Set out and pretty much walked around all of Dublin, stopped at some awesome shops, got some good food. Went to Trinity college and hung out, such a beautiful campus. Went to some Irish museum and saw like, brutally old dead bodies that got preserved almost perfectly in the bogs. Really eery. Headed back after lunch and took a nap and then got up and went out for dinner. Walked to this area called Temple Bar which is pretty much a whole road of pubs and awesomeness. It was pretty like collegey, which was lame, but it had a much better vibe. Went in a couple pubs and drank guiness and whiskey and saw awesome Irish music. I want an accordion. The accordion player in this one band was seriously beautiful and I was CAPTIVATED but she was 30, which sucked but at the same time was awesome because she seriously looked like, 20. Headed back to the room and slept.
Today was extremely lazy and jetlag sucks and I've slept way too much. It's just turning midnight now but I wanna go walk around and go to a pub and try and meet people and whatnot. Tomorrow me and Ari are gonna do seperate things and I'm excited to be on my own and try and meet people, which more and more lately I'm noticing I'm not particularly good at. Then the next day we head out to Slygo and hang out there, then the day after that we head to Tralee and start our 10 day walk. We have places to stay every night except one, so we're gonna have to camp, WHICH I THINK IS AWESOME as long as we don't die.
Not having so many electronics is awesome. All I have is my ipod and books, we had no power to charge this thing for the first couple of days because we kept buying the wrong converter. But I've been reading and writing so much more and I feel so much better, and I pay attention to my music so much more because I'm not doing a million things all at once like I am at home.
Gonna post this little short story I wrote and sort of enjoy. Dece.
